    Uses

Production of Sulfuric Acid, Carbon Disulfide, Sulfur Dioxide, Phosphorous Pentasulfide, Pulp and paper.

Potential Health Effects

Inhalation:
Sulfur dust is a very mild irritant. Chronic inhalation may cause irritation of mucous membranes. No injurious effects have been ascribed to the inhalation of the dust in the US, but bronchitis and “thiopneumoconiosis” have been reported in foreign literature.

Eye Contact:
A mild skin irritant. Prolonged contact may cause dryness. A mild irritant of the eyes.

 

First Aid

Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air.

Ingestion:
Induce vomiting, seek immediate medical attention.
Wash area with soap and water.

Skin Contact:

Eye Contact:
Flush eyes with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
